LexDana Launches 2026 Trademark Intelligence Rankings

LexDana today announced the launch of the 2026 Trademark Intelligence Rankings — the first publicly available, data-driven performance rankings for U.S. trademark attorneys and law firms. The rankings cover the Top 250 trademark practitioners and firms across multiple performance categories, evaluated entirely on USPTO Trademark Bulk Data. Unlike traditional legal rankings, the LexDana Trademark Intelligence Rankings require no nominations, no peer surveys, and no submission fees. Every ranking is derived from measurable outcomes in the public record.

Methodology

The 2026 rankings are based on Patexia’s analysis of 2,897,046 trademark applications that reached a conclusion between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2025. Performance scores are calculated using a proprietary algorithm that evaluates eight key signals:

• Registration Rate — Share of applications successfully registered vs. abandoned.
• Office Action Frequency — Average office actions issued per application.
• Time to Registration — Median months from filing to registration.
• Opposition Outcomes — Win rates in TTAB opposition proceedings.
• Cancellation Defense — Success rate defending against cancellation actions.
• Volume — Total prosecution activity over the measurement window.
• Class Diversity — Range of Nice classes prosecuted.
• Client Concentration — Distribution of work across distinct applicants.

All eight signals are normalized within practice cohorts and weighted by Patexia’s published methodology, ensuring that small specialty firms compete on equal footing with large general practices.

The LexDana Trademark Intelligence Badge

Attorneys and firms appearing in the Top 100 of any official ranking category are eligible to license the LexDana Trademark Intelligence Distinction Badge — a publicly verifiable credential linked to a permanent spotlight page displaying rank, score, percentile, and year-over-year trend. Badge assets are available in PNG, SVG, and social-ready formats, licensed for use across firm websites, RFP responses, pitchbooks, and partner profiles.
