The Patent Board Semiconductors industry scorecard, which ranks 240 companies, has ranked Micron Technology first in the Science Strength category and fifth in the Technology Strength category. Micron Technology manufactures DRAM, NAND, and NOR flash memory, packaging solutions, and semiconductor systems used in computing, consumer, networking, embedded, and mobile products.
Every year, Micron ranks among the top semiconductor companies for patent strength and value, having secured more than 25,000 patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in addition to international patent offices.
The first place rank in Science Strength represents the second consecutive year that Micron Technology has been placed first in the category. The Science Strength category measures how much a company utilizes science in building its patent portfolio, balancing both the measure of science and the quantity.

The Patent Board Semiconductor industry scorecard determines these rankings by tracking the global patenting activity of a company and relating it to innovation, technology, and science strengths.
